BOTTEGA LOUIE. The non-L.A., L.A. restaurant. Not only is the food delicious (and surprisingly affordable) but the sixty foot ceilings and large open dining room make you feel like you’re dining in an upscale Manhattan eatery.
While they do not take reservations, the restaurant does adhere to the time honored tradition of catering to favored guests. With frequency and gregariousness all it takes is a handshake with one of the managers to step past the line of eager diners and be shown to your table. If you must wait, don’t despair.  The bar area is large, has ample seating and is quite a scene in and of itself.

Boasting a variety of modern and classic Italian dishes, my favorite feature just might be the “Small Plates” which I liken to Italian tapas. They also make an excellent dirty martini. The bruscetta and ravioli are to die for, and nearly all menu items (and more) can be found ready for take-out in Bottega’s adjoining gourmet market. Valet or easily accessible self-parking available.

That place is awesome. The portabella fries are pretty damn good too.
